Atilano's Mexican Food - Downtown is a straightforward Mexican fast food spot nestled in Spokane’s urban core, offering hearty, authentic dishes with a decidedly casual vibe. Located on West 3rd Avenue, it draws a mix of locals seeking robust, no-frills Mexican fare, whether for a quick lunch or a laid-back dinner after wandering downtown.

The restaurant’s atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, with friendly staff who keep the service quick and attentive through busy shifts. Despite its setting in a part of town known to be a little rough around the edges, the interior feels welcoming, with a chill energy that suits families as well as solo diners craving a satisfying meal.

Menu-wise, Atilano’s brings a solid range of traditional Mexican favorites, with a particular emphasis on tacos and burritos that pack ample flavor and portion size. The carne asada tacos and carnitas burrito are local standouts, perfect for anyone wanting a meal that tastes homemade and substantial. For breakfast lovers, options like the bacon breakfast burrito and huevos rancheros provide a lively start to the day without fuss. There’s also a nod to indulgence with desserts like deep fried ice cream and flan, rounding out a meal nicely.

Drinks here lean toward classic American sodas, which seem to complement the savory dishes well, adding to the casual dining feel. Not to miss are the chile verde fries, a favored item that adds a comforting, cheesy twist on fries, great for sharing or keeping all to yourself.

This spot works best when you want solid Mexican food without the formality of full-service dining — think quick bites between errands, casual dinners with friends, or grabbing a filling breakfast to fuel a busy day. The friendliness of the staff and consistent food quality make repeat visits easy to justify.

Given its downtown location, visits are often paired with exploring nearby Spokane sights, making it a convenient and filling stop. However, bring realistic expectations about the neighborhood’s ambiance—a mix of lively street life with occasional rough patches. Inside, though, the focus remains on good food and straightforward service.

Ohh. So so good. Great flavor, evenly portioned, fast service. A must if you are in Spokane. We are here from Kennewick and I haven’t had a good breakfast burrito like this in awhile. Veggie burrito on point. Egg, cheese , bean breakfast burrito delicious. Taste like home made. Yummm

Sketchy part of town and watched a drug deal in parking lot and watched homeless people set up beds under a semi trailer. But the Burria tacos were great and consumea was delicious.

Went to the downtown Atilano’s after having a bad experience at the Sprague location, and wow, night and day difference. The burritos were insanely good, super flavorful, packed well, and clearly made with care. On top of that, the service was absolutely fire, friendly, fast, and actually attentive. They made the whole experience feel welcoming and worth coming back for. This location completely redeemed Atilano’s for me. If you want good food and good service, downtown is the move!!!

I saw the sign that says, "San Diego's best burrito." But I'm in Spokane. Looking for Spokane's best burrito. To be honest, I didn't even order a burrito. I ordered 3 carnitas tacos and 3 adobada tacos. A large Pepsi and the #25 plate. Consisting of 2 shrimp ceviche tostadas. Total cost, $30.32. Kinda steep. It was good, tho. Ceviche was overpriced for the amount of food I got. Very un-San Diego like. But it had good flavor. Carnitas tacos were very good. But greasy. And the adobada tacos were ok. I walked in and placed my order. Then sat to wait. As I was waiting, half the people in Spokane walked in to order! I felt fortunate to have placed my order before the dinner rush.
